Communications & Marketing Coordinator/ Part Time

 Job Description        

Responsible for creating, developing and coordinating all marketing, advertising and public relations programs as well as all outreach for the Chamber, cultivating the Chamber’s community, regional & national perception. This includes all content curation and management from print publications, to event marketing materials to web and social media development. See breakdown below. •Coordinates and sustains all aspects of internal and external communications, including news media relations, print/electronic publications, website, e- Newsletter, e-blasts and social media initiatives •Plans, implements, and coordinates the Chamber’s marketing, advertising and public relations programs to parallel the goals and mission of the Chamber as laid out by the Chamber’s Board of Directors •Establishes, nurtures, and maintains positive external relationships with individuals, businesses, and community-based organizations that support the Chamber’s outreach efforts •Composes correspondence, media messages, articles, press releases, announcements, presentations and other oral/written communications to meet the Chamber’s outreach needs •Coordinates the photography needs of the Chamber •Develops and coordinates all relevant materials for Chamber special events •Attends Board meetings and serves as staff support for major Board & Governance initiatives including annual elections, development of the Board tool kit, Retreat planning and full Board outreach •Serves as backup for Membership and Events Coordinator •Performs other duties as assigned

 

 Qualifications        

•Minimum of 3 years of work experience with website content, social media, public relations, marketing collateral •Strong working knowledge of Adobe Design Suite, primarily InDesign, as well as Canva •Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task •Self-starter with creative ideas •Ability to work with a variety of people and personalities while delivering on deadline, within budget •Experience working for membership-driven nonprofit organizations preferred •Prior Chamber of Commerce experience a plus •Knowledge of Coronado preferred •General knowledge of strategic communications plan development and execution •General knowledge of managing Web sites in a content management system •Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment •Excellent oral and written (AP Style) communication skills •Experience working with Constant Contact a plus •Ability to work a flexible schedule, with occasional hours during weekends or after hours, as needed, based on event schedules Preferred, but not required: •Grant writing experience and Grant administration
