Communications Intern (unpaid)

 Job Description        

Website & Social Media Management • Research relevant topics and make recommendations of content to be posted on ICF’s online accounts • Draft copy of social media posts, blogs, news articles and press-releases, on topics related to ICF’s programmatic work • Work with the program team to create a Social Media calendar • Outreach to grantees and partners in Mexico for blog post content and photos. • Collect weekly analytics about ICF’s online accounts Donor Relations & Outreach • Create and download relevant reports from ICF’s database systems for use in ICF’s donor relations and outreach • Research and prepare an IOBY crowdfunding campaign for a La Paz cohort of 10 groups; organize training/workshop logistics; launch crowdfunding campaign. • Draft emails and other communication materials for potential and current donors Special Events • Support all tasks related to planning and executing special events such as receptions, film-screenings, border tours, donor site visits, etc. Database/CRM Management • Perform data-entry and clean-up existing content in ICF’s databases; • Support implementation of a new CRM System, when roll-out begins (expected Summer 2016) General Administrative Duties • Perform standard office and clerical duties such as printing, scanning, data-entry, filing, and organizing office materials, in support of all Marketing & Development activities



• Undergraduate Student/Degree in communications, public relations, political science, international development or related field (completed or in progress)
 • At least one year of experience in an office setting; experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required • Pro-active, self-starter, comfortable taking initiative and reaching out to a broad range of people; excellent interpersonal skills 
 • Detail-Oriented • Ability to use technology platforms such as Outlook, CRM systems (such as SalesForce), Website design (such as Word Press), email platforms (such as MailChimp), and all social media accounts • Knowledge of diverse groups, working with a multicultural workforce, and sensitivity and appreciation of cultural differences is required. 


 Additional Information        

The Communications Intern will support the administration of ICF’s marketing, development, fundraising and communications systems, in order to increase the quality and impact of ICF’s programs, which create lasting improvements in education, health and the environment in Latin America and Mexico.
