 Job Description        

Reporting to the CEO, this position is responsible for all development efforts for the Carlsbad Educational Foundation. In this role, the director will be responsible for creating an innovative strategy to transform the foundation’s approach to grow its base of individual supporters, grants and corporate relationships. The director works as part of a team that includes a creative and talented staff, a dynamic and supportive board, and a dedicated fundraising committee.



• Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree and CFRE Credential preferred. • Minimum five years of fundraising experience with strong record of accomplishments. • Successful track record in all stages of the development cycle including prospect identification, research, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. • Innovative self-starter. • Accountable for results. • Social skills, sensitivity and self-confidence to work successfully with a variety of individuals and personalities (board members, community leaders, corporate leaders, foundation representatives, financial advisors, etc.) • Strong work ethic with an orientation toward constant innovation and process improvement. • Detail oriented, efficient and accurate. • Enjoys adapting to constant change in a fast-paced setting. • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks and projects. • Proven team player; ability to collaborate and engage all internal/external stakeholders. • Experience working with fundraising software.


 Additional Information
