Marketing Communications Assistant

 Job Description        

• Create and distribute email newsletters, including monthly Snapshot and event-specific invitations using email-marketing programs. • Create original content for online platforms, including website and social media. • Be available for all MOPA events on nights and weekends in order to document and create content for said events. • Participate in online outreach and digital marketing efforts on media websites and MOPA’s channels. • Collaborate and support departments across the museum on marketing and communications needs. • Assist in drafting and editing museum communications (i.e. press releases, collateral, newsletters etc.) • Assist with coordinating design and print projects. • Create and edit minor design projects as needed. • Assist with any and other tasks as needed by the Marketing and Communications Manager. • Maintain flexibility with respect to assigned tasks due to changing deadlines, changing deliverables and changing task priorities.



• Marketing and Communications Experience • Experience with professional use of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn • Interest in new and developing platforms (i.e. Snapchat, Facebook Live, etc.) • Experience using email-marketing systems (i.e. MailChimp, ConstantContact, etc.) • Knowledge of Adobe Suite, primarily Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator • Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills • Ability to plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple projects and deadlines • Display ability to learn and apply new skills quickly and effectively • Ability to work independently


 Additional Information        

This position is part of the Operations Department, providing assistance to the Marketing and Communications Manager at the Museum of Photographic Arts. The ideal candidate is energetic, self-motivated, tech-savvy and a team player; and must be available to work nights and weekends at both internal and external MOPA events.
