Development and Events Director

 Job Description        

LRPC is seeking a dynamic, creative and organized Development and Events Director who is interested in helping a mission-driven nonprofit thrive and grow. This position reports to the Executive Director and works closely with a committed staff and high-level Board of Directors. The Development and Events Director will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating all fundraising activities, with an emphasis on grants and foundations. In addition to raising grant funds and working with the Executive Director on presentations, positioning, the successful candidate will help direct the Events Intern and the Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator to secure LRPC's health and development to fuel the LRPC network's expansion, capacity and continued programmatic success.

 

 Qualifications        

Skills/Knowledge Experience in fundraising or sales and marketing required, with a demonstrated track record of success in raising major gifts and writing complex proposals for various audiences including foundations. Experience in a nonprofit organization preferred. The successful candidate will be comfortable making -presentations in person and personally ask people for money.Excellent writing skills including the ability to produce high-quality materials quickly and under deadlineAbility to develop fundraising budgets and prepare financial reports.Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Donor Perfect; work with donor databases a must, basic graphic design in Adobe Creative Suite is important. Strong commitment to the environment and the mission of LRPC. Bachelor's degree required and five years of responsibility in development/major fundraising and event planning. Excellent leadership, management, and decision-making skills.

 

 Additional Information        

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Vacation; sick leave; 10 holidays and week off between Christmas and New Years; platinum dental and medical health care; the ability to contribute to a 401(c) 3 program.
