 Job Description        

Under the direction of the Senior Director, External Relations/Cancer Center and Senior Director, External Relations the Development Specialist provides high level logistics oversight, advisory committee management, proposal and report writing and submission, and complex administrative support with the ultimate goal of implementing engagement strategies for assigned fundraising priorities. Tracks, monitors and ensures all activities are completed in a timely and professional manner. Interacts with all levels of the organization, including senior management and faculty, board members, major donors and foundations, and members of the community. Responsible for independent problem-solving and performing duties with a high level of service and the utmost courtesy and confidentiality. Assists with evening and weekend donor events, as needed.



Required: 4+ years work experience with a proven track record in executive level coordination and administration, building relationships, and assisting with strategic planning. 3+ years work experience in writing/editing general correspondence and miscellaneous documents as well as experience with drafting and editing briefings, donor profiles and stewardship documents in a fundraising context. 3+ years demonstrated experience with executive level calendaring and interacting successfully with high level donors, faculty, and community members. 3+ years demonstrated experience in producing fundraising or other relevant executive level events, and knowledge of principles and practices of events management. 2+ years demonstrated experience in gathering, researching and analyzing information and recommending or implementing appropriate solutions. Demonstrated experience providing strong customer oriented service and assistance.
