 Job Description        

The New Children’s Museum is seeking a detail-oriented, energetic and motivated self-starter to work with the marketing department. Under the direction of the VP Marketing & Communications, the Marketing Manager will support the communications efforts of the Museum including but not limited to brand marketing, print/radio/television advertising, public relations, website/online efforts, social media, collateral/signage and other related initiatives. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Project Management • Monitor and manage all day to day projects for the Marketing Department • Function as liaison between other departments and Marketing team • Participate in and occasionally lead the bi-weekly Manager meeting Media/Advertising • Assist Director with developing and executing advertising plans • Work with sales reps and follow up on inquiries, providing artwork/creative. Social Media • Develop and execute the social media plan – including daily monitoring, posts and responding to comments



Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations or related field of study. Three to four years of professional experience in one of these fields is strongly preferred. • Proficiency in major business software, including: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. • Graphic design (AI or InDesign), e-blast programs (Constant Contact or Mailchimp) and CMS platforms (Wordpress) not required but a plus. • Familiarity with database system (the Museum uses Altru) not required but a plus. • Superior organizational skills; ability to work well under pressure and remain flexible with multiple priorities and deadlines. • Excellent written and verbal skills • Strong attention to detail in both visual and written form with exceptional proofreading skills. • Thorough understanding of social media applications and tools, including Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, YouTube.
