 Job Description        

COMMUNICATIONS & GRANTS • Prepare fund development communications and collateral (e.g., donor acknowledgement letters, impact reports). • Oversee communications calendar (monthly e-newsletter, etc.) • Manage calendar of grant application and reporting deadlines to ensure timely submission of proposals and reports. • Support grant proposal packaging and submission. SPECIAL EVENTS • Provide administrative and planning support for fund development aspects of the Peacemaker Awards Dinner, NCRC’s signature fundraising gala, including awardee selection, sponsorship materials, event program, guest registration/experience • Special event planning, preparation and support (e.g., evening "impact receptions") • Support quarterly KPBS-NCRC Community Heroes Community Conversation events BOARD AND COMMUNITY LIAISON • Present a strong public presence and effectively represent NCRC before a wide range of constituents • Coordinate and staff quarterly Board meetings and annual Board retreat



• Communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read and understand information presented in writing • Speak clearly, concisely and effectively; listen to, and understand, information and ideas as presented verbally • Develop and maintain applicable professional contacts and resources • Support and/or help create and implement new policies/procedures/standards and/or rules/regulations • Maintain confidentiality QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS • Five years in non-profit experience in a fund raising role • Self-directed • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills • Demonstrated success in networking and developing philanthropic partnerships • Demonstrated skill and success in working with high-level executives and volunteers • Demonstrated computer knowledge including proficiency in databases (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge) and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) • Four-year degree required

The National Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC) is a non-profit organization, which provides mediation, facilitation and training for community, business, and legal clients. Using a wide range of alternative dispute resolution techniques, NCRC works with individuals and corporations to resolve disputes through non-adversarial means. NCRC, formerly the San Diego Mediation Center, was established in 1983. For more information, see The Fund Development Events and Communications Specialist (Specialist) reports to the Director of Fund Development (Director) and works closely with the President, the Board of Directors and the Board’s Fund Development Committee. The Specialist participates in the organization’s entire fund raising program including corporate sponsorships, individual donors, pre-and post- award grant management, and the Peacemaker Awards annual fundraising event.
