Event Assistant (Temporary, PT)

 Job Description        

The Balboa Park Cultural Partnership is seeking a temporary, part-time Event Assistant. The successful candidate will have one or more years of experience in an event setting and have good judgement, attention to detail, marketing and communication skills, and the ability to enter accurate data.  Qualifications        

- Provide assistance in preparation for and during on-site events; this includes coordinating catering, making arrangements with host sites, managing RSVP lists on Eventbrite and Google Forms, creating name tags and sign-in sheets, and procuring materials - Solicit in-kind donations from local catering companies, restaurants, and businesses - Host monthly get-togethers for Balboa Park employees and volunteers - Write event descriptions, create images in Canva, and draft Eventbrite page for events and get-togethers - Add event listings to website, newsletters, and Facebook as needed - Answer questions via email and phone in a timely manner - Assist internal departments with event tasks as assigned

 

 Additional Information        

Position type: Temporary (position ends on March 1, 2019); Part-time (up to 16 hours a week); Hourly, Non-exempt, Rate: $14 per hour. Perks include discounts at select Balboa Park restaurants and shops and free admission to member cultural institutions.
