 Job Description        

Membership *Coordinate the JFGSD’s membership program:-Receive and process membership forms and payments-Prepare donation letters and membership cards for new and renewing members.-Cultivate and maintain good relationships will all members - Develop methods to ensure member retention. - Develop strategies for new member recruitment. Manage the JFGSD database to ensure that all records are well-organized and accurate. *Train and coordinate with staff about Membership and Membership Processing *Coordinate and oversee writing of the JFGSD’s bi-monthly member newsletter- the NIWA. *Generate membership reports for the JFGSD Board.Fundraising *Raise funds for the Japanese Friendship Garden’s (JFGSD)construction projects, general operations, and programming: -Work with current donors to develop and expand their participation, seek referrals for new donors, and identify and develop new donation opportunities. -Approach new donors, corporations, and community orgs to obtain funding.



Qualifications- Applicants MUST:*Understand KPI’s and applicable metrics to accurately report on member and donor campaign successes. *Be able to exercise professional judgment in dealing with the personal information of all JFG constituents including board, staff, members, and volunteers. *Demonstrate proof of ability to work in the United States and have a valid California Driver’s License. *Have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. *Be proficient in Microsoft Office, including MS Excel. *Have strong written and verbal communication skills.*Be able to interact professionally with a diverse and international audience via phone, email, and in person. *Be able to work evenings and weekends as necessary *Be self-motivated, able to work independently and meet deadlines.*Be a team player.*Be able to think creatively and have a strong drive to continually “raise the bar”
