Development Assistant - Special Events & Data Entry

 Job Description        

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Special Events (80%) Assist the Special Events Supervisor on all aspects of event planning and execution: pre-event, onsite and post-event. Assist the Special Events Supervisor with implementing programs, agendas, budgets, and services according to event requirements. Assist with the inspection and permitting of event facilities to ensure that they conform to event, city, and county requirements. With the Special Events Supervisor, meet with organizing committees and sponsors to plan the scope and format of events, review administrative procedures, and ensure all is progressing as planned. Assist with the implementation of efforts to publicize events and promote sponsorships, including both financial and in-kind support. Assist with SDFB event management software. Work closely with event volunteers – recruiting, scheduling, training, support and acknowledgement. Administrative Support (20%) Operate proficiently with the donor database, ensuring accurate data

 

 Qualifications        

POSITION REQUIREMENTS The ideal candidate will be motivated, a strong multi-tasker, and able to independently organize their activities on a daily basis. A self-starter that enjoys working as part of a team but is comfortable seeking out answers and taking initiative to solve problems. Great at building and maintaining strong relationships. EDUCATION, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined below is graduation from college with an Associate or Undergraduate degree, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Minimum of 2 years' demonstrated experience working in similar events planning/fundraising or development preferred.  LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS A valid California's Drivers License Must have own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage   SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES  Office administration and management practices and procedures Excellent written and verbal communication skills including
