Director of Development

 Job Description        

Our new Director of Development is an ambitious and goal-oriented professional who possesses broad knowledge of the principles of fundraising and is able to participate in all aspects of the gift cycle. They will be highly driven to achieve fundraising goals and advance business development and marketing efforts and an essential element of growing the organization. Primary Responsibilities: • Create and implement a comprehensive strategic development plan. • Craft the overall strategy and execution of securing major gifts including short and long-range planning, donor relations, and data management. • Ensure the success of Challenge Center’s annual gala and other fundraising events. • Develop and execute planned giving and institutional relations programs. • Ensure the organization meets or exceeds its annual contributed income goals. Essential Functions: • Cultivate and solicit major gifts from individuals. Develop creative strategies for broadening the organization's base cont.

 

 Qualifications        

QUALIFICATIONS: • A minimum of 3 years of development experience; • A minimum of 2 year of non-profit work; • Strong interpersonal skills; • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail • Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe graphic design, CRMs and donor database systems; • Ability to work effectively with volunteers and committees; • Strong sense of ethical conduct and adherence to AFP Code of Ethics. • Extensive experience with online marketing, social networking, content development • Experience with branding campaigns and developing a strong position statement
