POSITION SUMMARY Under the direction of the Chief Public Affairs & Civic Engagement Officer, the Director of Communications & Marketing is responsible for managing agency external communications. General responsibilities include, but are not limited to, media relations, strategic communications, community relations, advocacy efforts, social media management, production of media on multiple platforms, and other special projects as needed. Specific responsibilities include: Develop a communications plan for a diverse set of target audiences and campaigns, including timelines and deliverables; Write and edit the majority of Center media materials, including traditional and social media; Develop, implement and monitor systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the marketing/communications function; Ensure brand and message consistency across multiple materials and platforms; Coordinate media support and availability; Train a diverse group of s

 

 Qualifications        

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience: A bachelor's degree in communications or a social services-related field is Master's degree preferred. Related experience can be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Prior experience working in the LGBT and HIV communities required, preferably in a non-profit setting. Computer/Office Equipment Skills: Must be comfortable working in PC/Windows-based Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel. Experience in Word Press, InDesign and other website and design software is desired.
