Development and Events Manager

 Job Description        

Home Start, a leader in providing family strengthening services in San Diego County since 1972 is seeking an experienced Development and Events Manager to support the agency's fundraising initiatives and marketing campaigns. Duties & responsibilities include representing the agency at community events and in local membership organizations; processing all monetary and in-kind donations; maintain donor database, coordinating fundraising & events mailings; assist in preparation of grant applications; oversight of multi-media & communications including development of brand-centric promotional & marketing materials, overseeing social media & marketing contractor & oversight of agency website; responsible for annual Blue Ribbon Gala and Hallo-Wine Fall Festival including budgeting, identifying venues, securing vendor, silent/live auction items, tracking donations, preparing post event letters and results; and marketing for agency Thrift Boutique and Candle-Making Social Enterprise.

 

 Qualifications        

Bachelor’s in Communications, Non-Profit Management, Marketing or related field and 3 years experience in fundraising or marketing, for a non-profit organization required. Demonstrated ability to be culturally sensitive to community and individuals and problem solve as part of a team. Must have excellent communication skills – verbal and written, be highly organized and detail oriented, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, multi-task in a fast paced environment, and manage time to meet deadlines. Must have excellent problem-solving and people skills. Expert computer skills including database management, Microsoft Office applications, and experience with website and social media management (Wordpress) are required. Experience in Word, Publisher and Excel preferred. Special event experience preferred.

 

 Additional Information
