The Marketing and Community Engagement Coordinator’s role with the San Diego Model Railroad Museum is to support the museum’s mission and visitor experience by securing ongoing media coverage for events, special programming and projects across multiple platforms. Currently SDMRM uses a variety of print, social media and online media to generate press and expand awareness to potential visitors of the San Diego Model Railroad Museum.
Strong candidates will be considered for attention to detail, strong communications skills, the ability to work well on their own and within a team environment.
Bachelors Degree Equivalent or higher in Communications, PR, or Marketing
Experience (2 years preferred) in Marketing, PR and or Communications.
Portfolio of previous work (if available).
Adobe Creative Suite
Familiarity Online Design Editors
Various email programs i.e. vertical response, mailchimp
Online event platforms/ticketing i.e. Eventbrite, Paperless Post, etc…
Microsoft office Suite
Social Media, content platforms
Basic graphic and web design/editing
Squarespace experience preferred
