 Job Description        

The Director of Development is a member of the leadership team of Mama’s Kitchen. Guided by the mission, vision and core values of the organization, the leadership team works collaboratively to support other department leads as appropriate to implement the mission. The Director of Development is responsible for providing strategic leadership; planning, managing, and executing the agency’s fundraising programs as they relate to donor, foundation, and corporate giving; and playing a key role in identifying and soliciting potential resources needed to execute the mission of Mama’s Kitchen.

 

 Qualifications        

Required Skills: 1. Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree or CFRE certification a plus 2. Minimum 3 years director-level development experience including staff supervision 3. Minimum 2 years of experience in the areas of major gifts and planned giving 4. Experience working the nonprofit arena 5. Excellent oral and written communication skills 6. Expert ability to work with all types of constituents – board of directors, donors, volunteers, community leaders and business leaders 7. Exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player are essential 8. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge software programs 9. Willingness to work evenings and weekends 10. Computer literate with Microsoft Office programs, the internet, web-based programs and other relational databases 11. Demonstrable compatibility with the core values of Mama’s Kitchen

 

 Additional Information        

1. Inspire and support development department staff and volunteers 2. Develop and implement short term and long-term strategic plans for the Development Department 3. Responsible for the overall strategy and execution of the major gifts program including short and long-range planning, donor relations and data management. 4. Responsible for the overall strategy and execution of the planned giving program including short and long-range planning, donor relations, and data management. 5. Responsible for the implementation, management and evaluation of the direct mail program including the preparation of data for all mailings; and the reparation and submittal of accurate reports as required. 6. Responsible for development, implementation, management and evaluation of the corporate giving program, the Bread & Butter monthly contribution program, and all activities related individual contributors including donor stewardship and recognition programs.
