 Job Description        

The Old Globe, a renowned industry-leading theatre in San Diego, seeks dynamic and experienced candidates for consideration for the position of Public Relations Director. The Public Relations Director will develop, direct, and implement all public relations activities for this year-round LORT theatre company producing 15 productions annually (over 600 performances) performed on three stages on our lovely Balboa Park campus, and our community-wide Arts Engagement programs. The Globe’s seasons include an esteemed summer Shakespeare Festival along with productions of classic and world premiere plays and musicals. Responsibilities include cultivating media relations locally, regionally and nationally, writing press releases, managing production photo and video B-Roll shoots, selection of photo and video for media use, coordination of Globe artist and staff print, radio and television interviews, and managing of public relations events.



Candidates must have 5-7 years as a manager of a PR department for a major arts organization or equivalent agency experience. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Photography and photoshop, and videography and video editing (Final Cut Pro, I-Movie) abilities a plus. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.


 Additional Information        

Must be able to pass applicable background check. Full-time position with benefits including 401(k) and show/ticket benefits. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
