 Job Description        

The Marketing and Events Manager is a key member of the Development team and will lead the Missionís efforts in executing marketing, communications and event goals. The Marketing and Events Manager has the responsibilities of managing day-to-day marketing operations, the coordination of Sleepless San Diego, strengthening donor communications and being a strong representative of the San Diego Rescue Mission. This position is a self-starter, organized and creative individual ready to bring the Missionís community presence to the next level of quality and excellence. To serve as a member of the Development Team To lead all marketing and communications efforts To coordinate Sleepless San Diego and other special events To develop and expand the Rescue Mission Brand To manage our efforts in public relations and community events To represent our Mission, Vision and Values To continue to grow as a follower of Jesus Christ and Spiritual Leader



Education: Minimum Bachelorís Degree in Business, Marketing or related field from an accredited institution. Experience: Minimum 2-3 years full-time work experience in events planning or marketing that demonstrates successful execution of projects and events. Must be familiar with the San Diego philanthropic community, Non-profit experience preferred Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook); typing (min 35 wpm); coordinate and/or direct a variety of complex tasks and assignments simultaneously and successfully; exercise good judgment and make sensible decisions; attentive to detail; prioritize effectively; effective oral and written communication skills; eagerness to learn and be trained; work both independently and as part of a team; provide information to public by answering questions and requests; regular, timely attendance.


 Additional Information        

The Marketing and Events Manager position is built for a creative, strategic and organized individual who has a passion for brand development and event management. The Marketing and Events Manager will be responsible for all marketing and branding efforts including: print and design, social media, public relations, advertising and the execution of our largest annual fundraiser, Sleepless San Diego. We are looking for an individual with strong verbal and written communication skills and a proven track record of executing successful marketing campaigns and events. Individuals who will thrive in this position have excellent self-management skills, are detail oriented and take strong initiative. The San Diego Rescue Mission has an incredible story to tell so this person will bring the energy, heart and vision in sharing our story with the community.
