COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST

 Job Description        

Reporting to the Executive Vice President (EVP), the Community Engagement Specialist (CES) is a full-time exempt position working out of the main office. The CES works with key staff and community groups on fundraising projects to create engagement opportunities and develop a culture of philanthropy for SCRC. The primary responsibility is to plan and implement cultivation events including event logistics, item acquisitions, securing event sponsors and ticket/table sales and creating fundraising marketing material for electronic and print media. Other key development functions include but are not limited to working with development team on donor cultivation, processing donations, managing the donor database, providing support for direct appeal campaigns, development correspondence and providing support/leadership to development committees.

 

 Qualifications        

•A bachelor's degree in business administration, communication, marketing, non-profit management, social work administration or related field with a minimum of three years of experience in general fundraising and high-level office management/administrative services. •Ability to consistently meet the required work schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, including occasional evening and weekend work as required. •Ability to professionally represent SCRC to clients and the public, both over the phone and in person. •Excellent communication skills. •Ability to maintain the confidentiality of donors, clients and staff encountered in the course of work. •Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of computers, office equipment and software programs including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook and Exceed (or other donor databases). •Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail. •Data entry and database management

 

 Additional Information        

Salary and Working Hours Salary commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits including generous paid time off, sick time, holidays, health, dental, vision, and 403B. Position works 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday. Must have ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
