Community Engagement Coordinator

 Job Description        

The Community Engagement Coordinator oversees the organization’s volunteer, community partner, and meal programs. In collaboration and consultation with program administrators and supervisors, this individual will work to produce the following outcomes and agency goals: •Strengthen programs (e.g. Steps to Independence, Meal Program, Volunteer Program) •Advocate for and educate the community about Operation HOPE-North County •Work directly, indirectly, and in collaboration with the Executive Team and others to build community partnerships, increase community awareness, and build donor-based opportunities. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Volunteer Program: Includes volunteer recruitment, orientation, training, placement, and evaluation of overall volunteer program operations. Community Meal Program: Consists of year-round volunteer meal service coordination. Community Engagement/Outreach: Includes outreach to community and partnership development.

 

 Qualifications        

SCHEDULE Involves a flexible and adaptive workweek of 40 hours which will include some evening and weekend hours to accommodate outreach activities and special events. Some overtime may be assigned as needed to meet shelter programming needs. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED •Associate degree in communication, public relations, related field, or significant relevant career experience •Experience working in the nonprofit sector •Supervisory experience (preferred) •Proficiency in use of Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Docs, or similar forward processing, spreadsheets, database management, email, social media, and other platforms. •Ability to lift 40 pounds as well as stand, walk, stoop and bend.
