A member of the leadership team, the Engagement Director is responsible for the meaningful engagement of the Words Alive community to support the organization’s mission through significant investments of time, skills, donations, and resources. Setting and meeting aggressive annual revenue goals, the top priority of the Engagement Director is to ensure that funding and voluntary human capital is abundantly available and effectively organized to deliver on our mission. The Engagement Director ensures that volunteer and donor experiences are of the utmost quality and on a continual growth trajectory.

Qualifications |

The ideal candidate for the Engagement Director position to help propel Words Alive forward has an innate love of providing people with opportunities to invest in causes about which they care deeply; has experience inspiring action, mobilizing resources, and exercising creative solutions; is equally excited about conversations with multi-national corporations, major philanthropists, and leading foundations as they are with first-time $10 donors and episodic volunteers; can lead a team towards aggressive goals with a thoughtful, coaching mentality; is willing to roll-up their sleeves to do the hard work; has a nonprofit heart and a business mind; is looking for an opportunity to show how you can grow a legacy organization to the “next level;” wants to be on the cutting edge of how nonprofits approach philanthropy; approaches their actions, words, and work with a keen focus on inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility; and is deeply motivated by the power of reading!
