 Job Description        

The Business Development Assistant is a support position to the development department and reports to the Chief Development Officer (CDO). This position provides administrative and departmental support to the Chief Development Officer and the development department including, but not limited to, coordinating meetings, preparing written communication as requested, scheduling and preparing for meetings, data entry, organizing mailing orders, assisting with other development and community initiatives, and supporting other officewide activities. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide administrative and clerical support to CDO and development department, including calendaring and scheduling of meetings along with meeting preparation • Support fundraising efforts • Support with the production of letters/mailings, as requested • Comfortable learning and using data base systems to record donor updates, scheduled visits, notes sent, etc.



• Proficiency in computer skills including the entire MS Office programs including Outlook and MS Word, word-wide web, internet communication programs, and computer software programs. PowerPoint desirable. • Excellent organizational and interpersonal communications skills. • Excellent writing, editing and presentation ability including proofreading skills. • Ability to demonstrate initiative, complete tasks assigned, and report on assignments. • Ability to pay attention to detail. • Ability to work under pressure and meet assigned deadlines. • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality, diplomacy and tact. • Professional demeanor, flexibility and ability to respond to multiple demands. • Able to work as part of a close-knit team. • Adheres to organization’s Policy and Procedures. • Maintains a positive and respectful attitude.


 Additional Information        

• Send appreciation and acknowledgement gifts, cards and notes to constituents • Support the tracking of due dates for grant proposals, reports and ensure copies are maintained in the shared drive and grant management system • As requested, conduct donor and community research as it pertains to development • Assist during events and with other development/fundraising initiatives • Process invoices and support follow-up/monitoring when necessary. • Update meeting agendas, minutes or preparation documents, as needed. • Represent the company in a professional and friendly manner at all times and develop a full understanding of the mission and role in the community. • Other duties as assigned.
