 Job Description        

Oversee grant seeking including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements. Meet prospective grantors to establish effective communications and relationships with them. Make public appearances/accept speaking engagements to share information about Wesley House Student Residence with the community. Work closely with Executive Director and Board of Directors in regards to needs and priorities. Maintain grant matrix. Demonstrate professional conduct at all times. Perform other related duties as requested.



Must embrace the mission and vision of Wesley House Student Residence. Strong interpersonal and writing skills. Have knowledge and experience in grant writing techniques. Possess the skills to work with and motivate staff, board members, and other volunteers. Have the desire to get out of the office and build external relationships. Be a “self-starter” and goal driven. Be organized and exhibit “follow through” on tasks and goals. Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense and good listening ability. A bachelor’s degree.

Company description Wesley House Student Residence (WHSR) is an innovative example of how a nonprofit can assist students, specifically low-income and first-generation students, stay in and graduate from college. We are a public non-profit organization that has served students of San Diego State University (SDSU) since 2005. Our mission is to assist students of Wesley House in their academic goals at SDSU by providing an affordable, safe place to live and study. We also connect students with a network of support services they are eligible for but frequently unaware of or have misconceptions about their eligibility.
