Grant Writer

 Job Description        

TKF is seeking to immediately contract ($30-$35 per hour) with an experienced grant writer to assist the organization with multiple grant writing tasks. The individual must be able to persuasively communicate the TKF mission and programs to potential private and public funders. You must have a solid understanding of proposal development and a history of crafting funding applications in a clear and compelling manner. Excellent writing, analytical, and research skills are essential. Candidates must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly-organized, and have experience using online databases and other sources to locate biographical, financial, and philanthropic information. A high level of computer literacy is required. Must be able to work well under pressure and the have ability to seek and synthesize information and communicate in a compelling and succinct form. It is estimated TKF will have three to five applications that can be submitted monthly.



College Graduate 3-5 years of relevant experience in successful grant writing Required to submit a grant writing sample with resume.


 Additional Information        

Experience in writing, assembling and submitting applications to foundations, corporations, and governmental agencies Must have the ability to familiarize yourself with the organization's programs, goals and needs Need excellent grammar and editing capabilities Can effectively draft language and create documents that respond to all application guidelines and requirements Able to assist with final packaging for online or other submissions Ability to work independently and in a timely manner to meet grant or organizational deadlines Ability to research multiple sources to identify additional funding opportunities Must be able to maintain a grant calendar and spreadsheet to track submission of applications, prioritize multiple projects moving in a timely manner, manage supplemental required materials, and communicate effectively with the organization High level computer skills
