 Job Description        

SALARY: $43,680.00 (40 hrs/wk) Full-time position with full benefits. The Divisional Volunteer Program Assistant assists with recruitment, management, training, support, supervision, and evaluation of volunteers throughout The Salvation Army Sierra del Mar Division, emphasizing community engagement and coordination of group volunteer activities; provides community outreach to groups and individuals, and developments partnerships and funding resources. Recruits volunteers to assist with provision of services such as: feeding homeless populations; coaching clients for job-readiness; teaching English classes, and leading activities for seniors. Conduct community outreach to residents encouraging participation in The Salvation Army volunteer opportunities. Conduct outreach to corporate and community partners to engage new pools of volunteers.



Qualifications: Minimum high school graduate or equivalent. Degree in non-profit management, communications, psychology, social work, or similar field preferred. Minimum one year of experience in volunteer supervision and/or management preferred. Ability to read, write, and communicate well in English required; bilingual English and Spanish preferred. Experience speaking before large groups preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Working knowledge of Photoshop and In-Design preferred. Working knowledge of integrated database applications and ability to use new software programs, including proprietary Salvation Army programs, with basic training. Must maintain a valid California Driverís License. Must successfully complete Decision Driving Safety Test before driving for The Salvation Army and annually recertify as required.
