 Job Description        

The Playhouse is a not-for-profit, professional theatre in residence situated on the magnificent campus of the University of California, San Diego. La Jolla Playhouse is located on the corner of La Jolla Village Drive and Torrey Pines Road in La Jolla, California. Under inspired leadership, La Jolla Playhouse has become the place to see whatís next on the American theatre landscape. The Playhouseís brilliant and innovative productions of new plays and musicals, including 75+ world premieres, 44 commissions and 38 American or West Coast premieres, have merited over 300 major honors, including 35 Tony Awards for its 28 productions that have transferred to Broadway, along with the 1993 Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre. The La Jolla Playhouse is looking for a highly organized, productive individual to fill the open position of Grants Manager. This is a position that is Full-time, Exempt with benefits. Reports to the Director of Development. The Grants Manager will oversee the organizationís Corporate, Foundation and Government grants (totaling approximately $1.5M annually). He or she will assist the Institutional Giving Campaign by writing grant proposals, reports including compiling and editing support materials, and be fully responsible for the grant process and calendar. Additionally, he or she will be responsible for donor research (alongside the Development Officer); the creation of presentations, talking points, draft correspondence, spreadsheets and other documents, and managing department interns as well as co-managing the Development Coordinator. The Grants Manager will also be expected to interact with the public and La Jolla Playhouse donors at meetings and evening and/or weekend events.

 

 Qualifications        

Qualifications include a Bachelorís Degree and minimum of five years of experience in the development field and proposal writing, experience using Tessitura or related fundraising software system.
