 Job Description        

Essential Functions Statements: 1.Assists management in ensuring that revenue and production goals are achieved. Provides input/suggestions for improving product flow, inventory control, and operational efficiency. 2.Opens and closes the store, fills out the necessary reports for the day. Provides guidance and direction to staff and ensures that all staff are assigned to the correct work area for proper coverage as well as assign break periods and lunch. 3.Provides customer service covering all aspects of the business including the process of handling and receiving donations, dealing with book inquiries, identifying customer needs and offering dvice or referring them to management when appropriate. 4.Prices books and other merchandise. Shelves books accurately and performs section pulls in a timely manner, meeting required store production/shelving goals, and keeping the store well-stocked with fresh merchandise.



Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) Experience: One year related experience. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, Email, Internet use, Microsoft Word and Excel. Certificates & Licenses: Must have a CA Driver’s License and driving record acceptable to Goodwill’s insurance company requirements. Other Requirements: Ability to operate POS. Must be able to understand the basic principles of running a retail store: Stocking, merchandise flow, quotas, cash handling, bank deposit procedures and sales reports. Ability to work with simple arithmetic (addition, subtraction, fractions, percentages, etc.). Ability to calculate figures and amounts related to cash handling (for example, change discounts, etc.). Ability to read and understand sales reports.
