The Sr. Grant Writer serves as the primary grant writer for Community Support Services. Responsible for researching, identifying and securing government and foundation funding to support the mission and vision of CSS. Manages the research and content development of all funding applications to government, foundation, and other funders.
What a Sr. Grant Writer does...
-Participate in agency decision-making, program planning, policy development and administration oversight, especially resource development decisions.
-Research, identify, and secure government and foundation funding to support the mission and vision of CSS.
-Participate in collaborative decision making with CSS executive leadership to respond to RFPs to secure funding for CSS programs and issue areas, ensuring a balance of win likelihood, pipeline of work, and ROI.
-Research and monitor trends in philanthropic giving, collective impact, and government funding arenas.
What we look for in a Sr. Grant Writer...
-Bachelorís degree in English, Communications or a related field is required, Masterís degree preferred.
-Three to five years of relevant experience required.
-Demonstrated success in securing large scale (>$300k+) government grants required. Success in securing foundation and corporate grants preferred.
-Analytical and persuasive writing and superior editing skills required.
-Ability to convey complex information in a clear manner.
-Previous experience supervising staff preferred.
