The Grant Writer reports to the Chief Development Officer, and works closely with Chief Operations Officer and senior programs staff to create yearly calendar for grant submissions; writes or assists with city, county, state and federal government RFPs and grants; researches and writes foundation and corporate LOIs and grants; writes foundation and corporate grant reports; assists Finance Office with government contract reports as needed; maintains professional communications with grantors. Core Competencies and Required Skills: • Three (3) years grant writing experience • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing; good interpersonal skills • Ability to collaborate with others and coordinate efforts • Strong editing skills • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines • Experience with donor management software • Comfortable learning new technology • Comfortable working with diverse staff and clients • Strong project management and problem-solving skills • Creative thinker • Self-starter • Adhere to highest ethical standards as relates to fundraising and AFP guidelines
