SUD Counselor

 Job Description        

The SUD Counselor is responsible for conducting individual session and the development of treatment/recovery program. Counselors provide clients with the ability to recover from substance abuse addiction. Facilitates AOD, Educational and recovery groups as well as maintain individual progress notes and documentation. Counselor is also responsible for conducting random drug testing and documentation and will provide counseling to clients in a non-residential mental health or substance abuse program.

 

 Qualifications        

∑ Must be a certified chemical dependency counselor or working toward a recognized State of California Alcohol and Drug certification; CAADAC, CASS or similar professional certificate. ∑ Bachelorís degree in a human services field and/or have a Master's degree in related field & State of California Alcohol and Drug certification. ∑ Must have two years of experience working with alcohol and drug related issues/addiction. ∑ Must possess and in-depth knowledge of substance abuse treatment methodologies and diagnostic techniques, familiarity with San Diego substance abuse services system. ∑ Must have experience working with high risk adult parole/ probation population. ∑ Must be able to work with culturally diverse population.
