Grant Writer

 Job Description        

• Generate revenue through the timely submission of well-researched, well written and well-documented grant and fundraising proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations and individuals • Conduct prospect research to identify, cultivate and solicit new grants and funding opportunities in the areas of homelessness, housing human services, education, workforce development, children’s services, and mental health services • Develop and write custom letters of intent and inquiry • Write custom reports to funders • Maintain and implement calendar of grant submissions, deadlines and reporting requirements • Coordinate and follow up on the progress of submitted proposals • Maintain all grant reporting requirements and resubmission strategies for all current and past grantors • Develop and document cultivation strategies • Serve as a liaison and relationship manager to all funding agencies and program staff • Other duties as assigned



Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, professional writing or similar field or, equivalent combination of education and experience 2-4 years of experience in research and grant writing; nonprofit experience a plus Demonstrated ability to write successful grant proposals Clear, precise and compelling writing skills Excellent written communication skills Excellent grammar and research skills Skilled at adapting messaging to different audiences Exceptionally organized, efficient, and motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently with purpose and accuracy Highly skilled at meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities High proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint Demonstrated success in providing exceptional support to a team


 Additional Information        

HOURS: Full-time, 40 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend work required.
