Grant Writer

 Job Description        

North County Lifeline has a new opportunity for an experienced Grant Writer to help us change the lives of low-income and underserved youth, adults, and families in San Diego. The Grant Writer is a key member of Lifeline’s Community Engagement team responsible for meeting fundraising goals to support programs that focus on youth development, child abuse and domestic violence prevention, housing and self-sufficiency, behavioral health, and human trafficking. The position is responsible for developing and submitting compelling proposals for institutional grant funding, identifying new prospects through targeted grant research, completing required grant reports, and developing stewardship material that builds donor relationships. The position is also responsible for maintaining accurate grant data in the donor data base, providing support for fundraising and marketing events, and representing North County Lifeline in the community.

 

 Qualifications        

Applicants should possess BA in a related field or equivalent work experience and have a minimum of two years’ grant writing experience in a mission driven non-profit setting. This position requires the ability to write compelling content about North County Lifeline’s mission and programs. Candidates must possess strong organizational and time management skills, exceptional attention to detail, and solid organizational abilities. Must possess computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite. Must be able to plan, organize, and complete grant writing and grant administration activities. Superior proofreading and copy editing abilities required. Must possess excellent oral communication skills, exercise good judgment, and be able to work independently within agency committees or administrative teams on special projects.
