 Job Description        

Responsibilities •Collaborates with Vice President of Development, Foundation staff and SDBB leadership to develop, write and submit grant proposals for prospective Foundations. •Manage grant funding calendar: submissions, renewals, reports, funding projected and received. Review/enhance system for prospect research and tracking. •Develop, and manage a robust portfolio of new grants and current targeted Foundation grant list. Identify and research appropriate foundation prospects. •Draft the materials in proposal development and writing. •Prepare new templates of grants for funding priorities and update existing templates



Position Requirements and Description Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Journalism or English, plus 3-5 years’ experience in non-profit grant writing preferably in healthcare. The Grant Writer is an experienced professional, responsible for developing and writing compelling grant proposals in support of San Diego Blood Bank funding priorities such as; bloodmobiles, critical equipment needs, greatest need, and SDBB’s precision blood and cell therapy programs. The primary objective is to meet annual and campaign fundraising goals by developing a portfolio of sustainable, renewable grants. Successful candidate will have excellent written, research, communications, organizational, and analytical skills in order to shape ideas, project/program information and concepts into sound grant proposals.
