 Job Description

The Property Asset Accountant will assist in the compiling financial information associated with Father Joe’s Villages Limited Partnerships and other specialized departments within the Organization, this would entail ensuring that assigned accounts are reconciled and make adjustments and/or corrections needed. This position also ensures the timely and consistent completion of the monthly close process. This position will assist in the preparation of year-end audit schedules and work with the Controller in responding to auditor requests. The person in this position will have knowledge of the operation of the company as well as the limited partnerships and will ensure that the accounting reflects the operation of the entities. The position is responsible in assisting the Controller with the development, implementation and management of internal controls associated with the overall accounting and finance processes.

Essential Functions:

  • Record, classify and summarize financial transactions in accordance with general accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Prepare journal entries into various accounts for the limited partnerships as well as other specialized departments within the Organization.
  • Reconcile assigned accounts to general ledger and resolves variances to ensure accountability and compliance.
  • Report monthly, or as needed, operating results for the limited partnerships as well as other specialized departments within the Organization.
  • Participate in property management meetings.
  • Analyze and review budgetary and financial data.
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual property budgets.
  • Perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or other management as required.


 

 Qualifications        

Minimum:
•BA in Finance and/or Accounting and 1-3 years relevant experience. Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with Sage 300 accounting systems Non-profit experience is desired.
