Program Director I - Licensed Childcare

 Job Description        

The YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a responsible Program Director for their Licensed Childcare for ongoing development, promotion and implementation of all licensed School Age Child Care programs. Operate programs in a manner that maintains safety and contributes to the academic growth and enjoyment of the children enrolled. General administrative duties include: staff, recruitment, supervision and evaluation, fiscal management, promotion, quality assessment.

 

 Qualifications        

*Must be 21 years of age or older and a high school graduate. *Bachelor Degree (In Child Development is highly desirable). *One or more of the following: Completion, with passing grades, of 15 units in Child Development (CD) or related field including: 9 college units in ECE/GE Core Courses and 3 units in child development, plus 3 units in Child Care Program Administration required. (RECE/GE Core Courses can include: Arts, Early Childhood Education, Education, Humanities, Physical Education, Psychology, Recreation, Sociology, and Theater) *Child Development Director Permit or higher. *Minimum of 4 years working in a child and youth development, education, or comparable setting, including a minimum of 1 year as a Site-Supervisor. *Basic computer skills, including word processing, and ability to speak, read, and write the English language. *Ability to produce well written reports and evaluations. *Additional languages are highly desirable.

 

 Additional Information        

*Must have a sincere interest in working with children 5-12 years of age and the ability to relate to children and adults in a professional manner. *Ability and flexibility to travel to local program locations. *Criminal record clearance in accordance with YMCA and Community Care Licensing guidelines. *Succesfully pass a physical exam and provide negative TB test results within 7 days of hire. (TB test results need to be current within 1 year.) *Must provide proof of measles (MMR), pertussis (TDap), and influenza immunizations within 7 days of hire. (TDap needs to be current within 10 years, MMR does not need to be renewed.)
