Assistant Controller

 Job Description        

The Assistant Controller is responsible for developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information. Manages and oversees the daily operations of the accounting department, including staff management, record keeping in the department including monthly and year end closing entries, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital asset inventory, trust account statement reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, etc. Reconcile various financial accounts including bank statements, cash accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, restricted funds and fixed assets. Prepare state filings include sales tax, property tax, and multi-state charitable solicitation licensing. Audit the work of the accounting department. Assist the VP of Finance in the preparation of the annual budget and strategic plan. Ensure payroll is completed on a bi-weekly basis.



Four year degree in accounting or related field and expert level experience with Excel and Outlook required. Previous supervisory experience required. Non-profit accounting experience and experience with Sage100 software preferred. Employee must demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
