 Job Description        

Reporting to the CEO, this position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the accounting systems, policies and procedures. This includes compiling and reporting accounting data for management reports and decision-making/ management purposes, and preparing monthly reconciliations and the annual audit. Key Responsibilities: (partial) Accounts payable and accounts receivable Monthly invoicing, reconciling A/R, and customer service Prepares grant-related claims to federal, state, local, and private funding sources. Direct contact with customers and vendors Maintaining contractor documentation Multiple bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliation, merchant c/c accounts Importing from Salesforce and Salesforce reconciliation Development Department data entry and reconciliation Accounting and reporting for all fundraising, special events, donations and grants Monthly and year-end close of QuickBooks database



Bachelors degree in accounting and/or a minimum of 4 - 5 years of bookkeeping experience required, with non-profit experience a plus. Knowledge and proficiency with QuickBooks accounting software required. Intermediate level in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required. Understand the difference between cash and accrual, and matching expense to income. Intermediate to advanced experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, month-end financial reporting, general ledger, accruals, and payroll. Independent, problem-solving abilities, detail-oriented, highly organized, with strong communication skills. Familiarization with higher education a plus. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities, prioritize work, solve problems, and operate under time and work volume pressure. Effective interpersonal skills and flexibility a must.


 Additional Information        

Compensation This is a part-time, exempt position with a salary range of $35-40/hour. Estimating 20-30 hours/week (TBD). Additional benefits include vacation, holidays and employer-paid benefit package.
