Program Manager

 Job Description        

Responsibilities: Provide leadership and supervision to the JRT/SFS staff and program participants. Oversee budget and ensure program requirements are met. Must also provide coverage if staff are unavailable. The following are examples of duties: · Meet weekly with staff to identify goals and provide support · Work with team to create ideas and follow-up plans to ensure contract success · Manage participants that need additional support/motivation to meet program requirements. · Manage career pathway programs to include our pre apprenticeship program · Oversee budget with program director support · Work with contractors and community partners for outreach, resources and positive program outcomes · Oversee and direct interns and program volunteers · Oversee implementation and integrity of the Job Readiness Training program · Participates in Second Chance staff meetings, trainings and other duties assigned

 

 Qualifications        

Education: Bachelor's degree in social or human services or at least seven plus years working directly with formerly incarcerated individual in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, case management, addiction interventions or social work. Qualifications: Required- Three or more years of case management and must have supervisory experience. Preferred- Experience working with adult criminal justice system. Requirements: Must have valid driver’s license and pass agency’s DMV check as well as provide proof of automobile insurance at agency-mandated liability levels. Clearance on the following tests which will be paid for by San Diego Second Chance: · Tuberculosis test · Background Fingerprint check · Drug Test

Program Overview: Strive Fresh Start (SFS) is a two year grant funded position aimed at supporting formerly incarcerated individuals to achieve their employment and education goals. SFS is part of our four-week intensive Job Readiness Training program. SFS serves formerly incarcerated individuals or those still on supervisors. SFS works in collaboration with other Second Chance programs and community partners. Services include; needs assessment, case management, conflict resolution, behavior modification and job placement. The goal of the program is to reduce recidivism and support individuals in becoming self-sufficiency and valuable contributors to families, employers and community.
