 Job Description        

The Senior Development Director is responsible for managing the long-term regional fundraising plan and growing Canine Companions’ financial support through individual, foundation and corporate gifts as well as special events. They assist the Executive Director and provide leadership to the development team to oversee the identification, solicitation and development of community, local and regional funding sources. The position manages regional fund-raising events and related projects, monitors chapter activities, and has responsibility for soliciting gifts under $25,000.



Minimum of five years of combined development leadership and fundraising experience in a non-profit environment. They must have proven skills in successfully developing and implementing regional fundraising plans to achieve established goals. They must identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major donors, and have the desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. •A proven record of success in meeting fundraising goals •Demonstrated prior success with face-to-face gift solicitations over $5,000 •Able to balance competing priorities, adhere to deadlines and be flexible to accommodate new projects •Understands the needs and interests of donors in order to enhance CCI-donor relationships •Ability to perform several tasks concurrently, excellent time management and organizational skills •Ability to manage and motivate staff and provide leadership •Ability to organize and maintain detailed records; complete necessary paperwork and meet deadlines •Excellent oral &
