The San Diego Chinese Historical Museum (SDCHM) is seeking a high energy individual ready to lead the charge and ensure the organization’s goals are realized for 2018 and beyond. SDCHM is a platform for celebrating multiculturalism, enriching the community, and showcasing San Diego as an international cultural tourist destination. Established in 1996, SDCHM is one of America’s foremost institutions dedicated to promoting Chinese history, art and culture and sharing the Chinese American experience. This state of the art and award-winning museum plays a critical role in the cultural life of the San Diego community with tens of thousand

 

 Qualifications        

Executive Director Position For SDCHM Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree is required, Museum Management, History or Art fields major is a plus. Master’s degree (M.A.) is a plus. • A minimum of four (4) years leading an organization or a substantial organizational unit is required. Experience in running a nonprofit organization, including grant writing, financial management, governance and staff development and operations is necessary. • Proven track record in resource development, including fundraising, endowment development, and stewardship programs is required. • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. • Ability to oversee diverse areas such as programs, exhibits, collections, and community networking required. • Language: Bilingual in English and Chinese (Mandarin) and ability to read traditional or simplified Chinese is a plus.
