Museum Store Manager

 Job Description        

The Museum Store Manager is responsible for the management and operations of the gift shop and admissions desk of the San Diego Model Railroad Museum (SDMRM). This is a professional position requiring a high level of skill and competency and the ability to work with limited supervision and to make duty-related decisions. A professional demeanor is expected at all times, with a strong work ethic, high energy and enthusiasm.

 

 Qualifications        

•Bachelor degree or minimum 2 years of experience in retail management •Possess a solid background in retail with some administrative experience and cash handling • Must have strong organizational, leadership and problem-solving skills •Positive demeanor, decisive personality and able to deal with many levels of clientele from all parts of the world and walks of life •Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially with the QuickBooks POS, Past Perfect •Flexibility to be able to fill in or work extra hours depending on the needs of SDMRM including but not limited to nights, weekends or holidays •Candidate must have or be willing to develop in depth knowledge about Balboa Park and the history of San Diego •Valid CA Driver's License and reliable transportation with proof of liability insurance
