The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of the financial system. As part of the executive management team, the CFO advises the CEO, the COO, and the Board of Directors on all financial matters. The CFO will organize, direct, and conduct all aspects of the financial affairs of NAMI San Diego, including the development and administration of policies on finance, accounting, insurance, internal controls, risk, budgeting, auditing, cost reporting, claims processing, payroll, personnel records, and employee benefits, Oversight of all accounting areas, including management of the general ledger, monthly preparation of financial statements, revenue cycle management, grants management, development of annual operating and capital budgets, cost reporting, auditing of subcontractors and cash flow management. The CFO will be a seasoned and mature professional leader with at least 10 years of broad finance and accounting experience, ideally in non-profit industry, along with experience gathering and evaluating financial information and making actionable recommendations to the CEO, and the Finance Committee. Demonstrate understanding of and observe all organizational policies, and procedures. Demonstrate successful work-related behaviors. Interact with staff, vendors, and visitors in attentive ways that demonstrate professionalism and that reflect NAMI San Diego's mission and philosophy.The incumbent must have experience in state and federal accounting regulations; principles and practices of financial management, including budgeting and reporting requirements; organizational dynamics; planning; coordinating and directing a complex grants management system.
