 Additional Information

San Diego Children's Discovery Museum's mission is “to inspire children to learn about our world through exploration, imagination, and experimentation.” Our vision is to be a model community children's museum, providing access to authentic, hands-on learning experiences that develop the whole child, lifelong learners, and global citizens. The Museum was incorporated in January 2000 as the only hands-on, educational, children's museum in North San Diego County. SDCDM started in 1999 as a mobile program educating elementary students about physics and art, and we have since outgrown two facilities and now own a 13,500 square foot indoor/outdoor facility in downtown Escondido. In each of the last two years (2017 and 2018), SDCDM served approximately 140,000 visitors on site. In 2017, the museum served some 10,000 guests through Mobile Museum activities, and in 2018 increased that number to 18,000 guests.
