Chief Operating Officer

 Job Description        

The COO will be a member of the Corporationís Executive Team and will be reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The COO assists the CEO in the management of the day-to-day business operations and systems essential to the organizationís success, including planning, financial, and human resources management, organizational accountability, contract, fiduciary and legal compliance. The COO will assist the CEO in ensuring the organization has adequate and diversified financial resources to provide a stable financial base, fully fund its service delivery goals, and meet corporate requirements. To meet the growing complexity of the organization, the COO will understand and implement, when necessary, current and new performance-enhancing technologies, as well as quality standards on the day-to-day operation of the organization. The COO will work collaboratively with the Charter Schoolsí Executive Director to fulfill the missions of both organizations and provide each joint

 

 Qualifications        

The successful candidate will have six to eight yearsí experience in an Executive Leadership position for a non-profit enterprise or business, and at least five years of operational experience. He or she must have experience directing a team of service professionals, planning and overseeing programs, managing grants, solving operational and procedural issues, and improving and increasing organizational capacity to deliver services. A demonstrated ability to motivate the participation and cooperation of employees is required. The successful candidate will possess a commitment to inclusiveness and have the ability to work effectively with a diverse staff and Corpsmember population. Having a strong understanding of inter-organizational relationships (Corporation and Charter School), the ability to build effective work teams, and the dexterity to establish consensus is essential.  Additional Information        

Bachelorís Degree is required. A Masterís Degree in Public Administration, Finance or Non-Profit Management, or related field is a plus.
