 Job Description        

The La Jolla Historical Society’s mission is to make La Jolla’s past a relevant part of contemporary life, and serve as a gathering place where visitors explore history, art, ideas and culture. LJHS has a reputation for collaborative, transhistorical, interdisciplinary exhibitions and programs. We are recruiting a Visitor Services Associate to serve community residents and cultural tourists that visit our galleries. This professional will staff and oversee the gallery admissions desk, coordinate and supervise volunteer docents, and manage the point of sale system. Focus on customer service, ensuring visitors are attended to professionally and promptly. Promote membership and publication sales and participation in education programs and community events. Other duties as assigned, which may be administrative, operational, or in support of programs or special events. Reports to the Deputy Director.



Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) and experience in customer service/visitor services; preferably in museums, the cultural sector, or tourism guest relations environment.


 Additional Information        

Part-time position of 12 hours per week, Thursday through Saturday, plus occasional evening events. Compensation: hourly pay rate of $15.
