Specific Responsibilities | •Supervise employees (currently two) in the Global Programs and Supporter Programs departments, nurturing positive employee relationships and setting program goals and associated task timelines •Draft workplans and workplan updates for Global Programs and Supporter Programs departments •Proactively identify blind spots and hurdles to program implementation and elevate to Executive team •Provide technical input to both program departments as required

Millie's Bookshelf is a 501(c)(3) humanitarian literacy nonprofit organization based in San Diego, CA dedicated to ensuring that displaced people worldwide have access to adequate reading resources. Millie’s mission is to improve childhood literacy and well-being by addressing book deserts in conflict settings. In 2020, Millie’s has global programs planned in Mexico, Jordan, and San Diego. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for supervising the implementation of our global and supporter programs. They must be a born organizational expert, comfortable with drafting program workplans, monitoring progress, and ensuring deliverables are completed on time. This position will report to the Executive Director, working 5 hours per week from February 1st – June 30th, 2020. This is a remote volunteer position; successful performance in no way guarantees future paid employment with Millie’s Bookshelf.
