Junior Program Manager

 Job Description        

This is a full time contract position beginning in February 2020. Position is based in San Diego, but applicants living in Orange County or Los Angeles County are encouraged to apply. The position entails the day-to-day operations of a youth mental health and suicide prevention program in California and will require travel throughout California. Interested applicants will be asked to demonstrate experience in managing school or community-based education or outreach projects in a leadership capacity. Past experience with mental health and/or suicide prevention, social emotional learning, and working with students is desired, along with experience in program implementation, curriculum development, administrative support related to managing school based mini grants, school and community-based outreach, partnership building, time management and project organization, and reporting. The chosen applicant will work as part of a small, passionate team and have access to administrative support.

 

 Qualifications        

- BA or higher degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Communication, Education, Social Services or Non-Profit Management, or related field desired. -A minimum of 3-5 years non-profit project management experience in one or more of these areas desired: implementing social marketing campaigns, managing school-based or youth-focused prevention programs, suicide prevention or mental health, film contests, entertainment/film, suicide prevention or mental health. -Experience with mental health and/or suicide prevention, social emotional learning, working with students desired. -Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines. -Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. -Superior writing, communication and presentation skills. -Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, Outlook.

 

 Additional Information        

Salary: $45,000 to $65,000 depending on experience Responsibilities will include: Work closely with Executive Director to manage day-to-day implementation of school and community- based outreach program. Manage content of all collateral materials associated with the project including print materials and website Manage mini-grant program, events and activities within workplan and budget parameters Develop curriculum, classroom-based presentations, and lesson plans related to mental health and suicide prevention Facilitate in-classroom mental health and suicide prevention lesson plans for students grades 6-12 Develop and maintain effective school and community partnerships Represent the organization at community events Complete all administrative taskss, reporting, and evaluation reports as needed -Applicants are asked to provide three references along with their resume and a cover letter customized for this position. **Only applications with a cover letter will be considered.
