Fair Housing Education and Outreach Coordinator

 Job Description        

DEFINITION The position will work to coordinate with the Program Manager to expand and coordinate full geographic education and outreach efforts. The position will be responsible to work with community organizations in establishing outreach best practices and develop tools to assess the effectiveness of the agency's outreach efforts. The position will also support in the coordination of county-wide needs. The Fair Housing Outreach and Education Coordinator is responsible for assessing, developing and implementing all Fair Housing outreach and education activities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Work with Program Manager to develop strategies to increase awareness and implementation of Fair housing Regulations. • Respond within the agreed time for outreach requests for outreach services and send follow-up information to requestor and supervisor. • Understand how content works on a social web and create new and engaging ideas • Communicate with your audience, be on top of the latest digital marketing trends • Optimize content and technology • Represent CSA at community and provider meetings. • Engage and assess services of community groups, churches and other groups • Track outreach response and outcomes. • Participate in staff meetings and training as assigned by supervisor. • Identify potentially underserved geographic areas/ locations and work with outreach specialist to engage and assess individual’s needs throughout the county. • Actively work with staff to identify hotspots to target coordinated outreach. • Coordinate with the Executive Director and Program Manager to ensure adequate geographic outreach coverage and assist with market analysis. ● Conduct fair housing education and outreach to consumers,local students, , homeowners, municipalities and city officials. ● Establish and maintain working relationships between non-profits, local universities, local networking groups and municipalities. ● Schedule and conduct workshops and presentations to various groups, including but not limited to the general public, private and community-based organizations, and specifically consumer groups and communities where direct access participation is low where the level of reported abuses is high. ● Coordinate and conduct meetings. ● Disseminate outreach literature. ● Host workshops/seminars designed to raise awareness of Fair Housing Laws for consumers and real estate professionals. ● Attend community events (hosting booths at community events). ● Assist with coordinating other CSA programs and events as assigned. • Maintain documentation standards as set forth by the program contract and adhere to all CSA policies. • Optimize response to referrals for most appropriate and consistent outreach contacts. • Complete paperwork on each contact. • Ensure all program data is accurate and entered into the appropriate program documentation system as required. • Prepare case related reports including, but not limited to outcome and success reports. • Generate client and community resource data for reporting. • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of service objectives and outcomes, as well as other requirements as outlines by Federal, State, County, and CSA guidelines.



MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATION The successful applicant must possess extensive knowledge of the fair housing principles. He/She must also: ● work independently and as part the team ● Exercise mature and professional judgment. ● Possess strong written and verbal communication skills. ● Possess Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills. ● Be highly motivated self-starter and ability to coordinate multiple projects/tasks simultaneously. ● Possess knowledge of maintaining and executing confidential information using HIPAA standards. ● Possess Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software. ● Be flexible, adaptable and have the capability to work in a fast paced, professional environment. ● Be availability to work evening and weekends as requested by management and based on the operational needs of the program ● Possess extensive knowledge utilizing of social media platforms and other media sources. ● Have knowledge of social web, technology and digital marketing trends ● Have excellent verbal, interpersonal, written communication and case assessment skills. ● Be able to work with a diverse audience. Also he/she must be able to exhibit patience, tact and respect when dealing with the general public and other CSA staff members. ● Be able to conduct small and large group presentation; He/She must have excellent public speaking and interpersonal skills. ● Have experience with computers, data entry and data bases is essential. ● Must be able to function with little supervision to perform tasks. ● Be able to write and present recurring and special reports in a clear, concise and timely manner. ● Be familiar with website maintenance. ● Be able to conduct research, collect, compile, analyze and present information in understandable and relevant terms. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE ● Master’s Degree and or five years of experience. ● Two-years full time work experience involving housing counseling or one-year experience in Housing. ● Knowledge of federal and state fair housing laws is essential. ● Bilingual (E/S) capability.


 Additional Information        

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position will require some infrequent non-tradition work for conducting presentations or for attending community events (i.e. Saturday mornings or early evening, week-days) in which case, flextime is authorized as compensatory time.
