Sanford Programs is an extremely unique organization within the National University system, as we are an entrepreneurial start-up business thriving within a large academic institution. The National Director is a challenging role, sitting at the intersection of education, philanthropy, and business. It is also a very high-profile position, due to both Harmony’s size within Sanford Programs, as well as our innovative platform and aggressive growth targets for reaching more students. With an overall program budget of $15M and 20 team members across the county, the National Director will oversee our goal of adding 4M new students into the program annually, and ultimately integrating the Harmony program into every K-6 educational and youth services organization in the country.



Education – BA/BS required, MA/MS preferred, Ed.D or Ph.D desirable. Professional experience – 10+ years of professional experience, including significant prior experience managing teams of business development professionals operating at the national level, with success at achieving growth metrics. Sectoral experience – prior professional experience developing and managing relationships with education leaders, ideally at the Pre-K through 6th or K-12 levels. Strategy – demonstrated success forming and driving a national business development and growth strategy, from the initial vision through to execution. Growth – demonstrated track record of leading teams to successfully achieve both individual and organizational growth targets. Business Development – solid understanding of sales cycles, with the ability to build, maintain and grow a national client pipeline of large organizations. Diversity – experience working with diverse student and community populations.
