The two main goals of the Marketing Manager are to drive attendance and ticket sales, and to increase awareness and acclaim of the organization. The Marketing Manager will be in charge of all aspects of marketing for both the 2021 Summer festival taking place at the end of July/beginning of August (our main event), and our Eclectic Lawn concerts in May and October (smaller secondary events). This is a part-time contract position.
Creating comprehensive marketing plan
Implementing all aspects of Marketing including:
Managing all aspects of Marketing and overseeing seasonal marketing staff.
Maintain marketing database.
Creating design images based on existing key art.
Contracting event photographer.
Interfacing with the press at events.
Required qualifications and experience.
Experience marketing similar events.
Experience running social media campaigns.
Experience running advertising campaigns.
Experience running PR campaigns and a knowledge of relevant press outlets.
Experience with grassroots marketing.
Understanding of the diversity of music presented at the Festival and its market.
Understanding community event marketing.
Demonstrated ability to develop and work within budgets.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, organize work, and function independently and in a team.
Ability to identify and solve problems in a timely and drama-free manner.
Excellent interpersonal skills and sense of humor.
Exemplary judgement: able to stay calm under pressure and react appropriately to intense situations.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, SquareSpace, Microsoft Office and Google Docs.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
Advanced study in the performing arts.
Knowledge of diverse forms of music including contemporary classical, indie-rock, experimental, jazz, and world music.
Knowledge of the Village of Carlsbad, California is a plus.
